I’ve been in business for over 10 years. I am passionate about what I do!
Why Vancouver? What excites you about Vancouver’s market scene?
This is where I live and its beautiful! There are so many local handmade markets here to choose from and each one has something different to offer.
The Home & Design Show! What excites you about this? Why take part?
To have fun and meet some great people with who I can share what I do!
Where do you find inspiration for your line? Where have you found inspiration in the past?
Fashion around the world, and always from traveling.
Name one “must-have” item for this season from your line or one of your local favourites:
Any of my big chunky cuffs. Colorful chunky pieces!
Who is your favourite Vancouver designer?
Bing Thom is a Vancouver and world renowned architect. I love fashion but I also love architecture and industrial design.
What do you think is the most important reason to shop local?
You are supporting the local economy, plus there is so much talent and gorgeous stuff to buy here.
Name a single person, business or organization that you think is making a difference for our local market/community
I think that Portobello West is such an important organization because it helps sustain and gives local designers a venue to market their designs. No one else has done what Carlie Smith, the founder of Portobello, has done. Portobello West was also just named “Best Artisan Market” in the Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Awards again! Portobello market continues to be awesome with the new team and board managing it.
